TFT Patch 18.3 Notes: Changes & Comp Strategy
TFT Patch 18.3 explained: Blossom and trait breakpoint nerfs, Coven and reroll buffs, item and augment changes, and how to read the meta while ranked data catches up.
Key Strategy Takeaways
- Patch 18.3 trims several Blossom charms and high trait breakpoints while increasing Coven loss-essence generation.
- Warwick is an explicit Level 6 reroll test direction in Riot’s notes; this is not yet a TFTFans measured 18.3 result.
- Karma, Alistar, Gromp, Murkwolf, Azir, Cassiopeia, and Rammus receive buffs; Nidalee’s AD damage is reduced while her AP third hit improves.
- TFTFans comp statistics remain a Patch 18.2 Diamond+ sample generated September 17, so they do not establish current Patch 18.3 rankings.
TFT Patch 18.3: The Short Version
Riot published Patch 18.3 on September 22, 2026. It is a focused balance patch: several Blossom charms and maximum trait breakpoints are weaker, Coven earns more Loss Essence, a group of low-cost units gets buffs, and many combat Augments are improved. Riot also called out Warwick as a Level 6 reroll direction to test.
The notes show what changed; they do not prove which composition now wins most often. TFTFans’ displayed ranked comp sample is still Patch 18.2, generated September 17. Use those boards as historical reference and the recommendations below as hypotheses to test in live 18.3 games.
| Patch 18.3 signal | What changed | What to check in game |
|---|---|---|
| Blossom ceiling | Several Blossom Charms were reduced | Re-check lines that rely on Blossom (3) splash value or a specific Charm |
| Coven economy | Loss Essence rises from 18/25/32/60 to 22/28/35/60 | Track whether the extra loss rewards justify the board risk |
| Trait ceilings | Defender, Hunter, Inferno, and Invoker top breakpoints are reduced | Do not assume emblem-heavy vertical boards keep their 18.2 power |
| Reroll buffs | Karma, Alistar, Gromp, Murkwolf, and Warwick are buffed | Test copies and item fit before committing; Warwick is Riot’s named Level 6 reroll test |
| Combat Augments | Many combat options are strengthened | Re-evaluate combat versus economy choices using the offered augment and current board |

The Changes Most Likely to Affect Your Comp Choice
Blossom and trait breakpoints
Blossom Charms received a broad set of reductions. Examples include Blood Money costing 2 gold instead of 1, Moonlight Ritual costing 3 instead of 2, and lower damage or stat bonuses on several other Charms. Riot says most games encounter only a subset of these Charm changes, so check the Charm your line actually uses instead of treating every Blossom board as equally affected.
Coven’s Loss Essence generation increases at its first three breakpoints: 18/25/32 becomes 22/28/35, while the final breakpoint stays at 60. Defender’s final resist value falls from 120 to 115, Hunter’s top AD bonuses fall from 45/65% to 40/60%, Inferno’s top burn values fall from 3.5/4.5% to 3/4%, and Invoker’s last mana regeneration breakpoint falls from 9 to 8. Riot describes these as reductions to the highest trait breakpoints, partly aimed at powerful Emblem setups.
Units and reroll directions
| Unit or line | Patch 18.3 change | Practical read |
|---|---|---|
| Karma | Ability damage increases at every star level | A stronger reroll candidate; still check copies, opener, and items |
| Warwick | Damage rises from 215/325/500 to 230/345/535 AD; healing rises from 20% to 25% | Riot specifically highlights a Level 6 reroll comp and suggests Titan’s Resolve plus Spear of Shojin as a test |
| Alistar | Ability damage and healing increase | More potential as a three-star unit, subject to live results |
| Gromp and Murkwolf | Both receive damage or attack-stat buffs | Recheck AD and AP item holders; Riot notes their relationship to Riftbeast boards |
| Cassiopeia and Rammus | Ability damage and shield increase | Potential compensation for the reduced 6 Defender stall line |
| Azir | Ability damage increases | A direct buff, not evidence by itself that Azir is now a primary carry |
| Nidalee | AD-form swipe damage falls; AP-form third attack damage rises | Separate the AD and AP item paths when judging this change |
| Lillia and Taric | Healing increases; Taric’s passive shield is reduced | Compare their frontline value in actual boards rather than reading the heal change alone |
| Veigar | Base ability damage rises, but AP gained per kill falls from 3% to 2% | A power-shape adjustment; test the full reroll board |
These are balance signals, not a replacement tier list. A buffed unit still needs a playable opener, enough copies, suitable items, and a stable frontline.
Artifacts, Augments, and Wisps
The Collector loses some AD, Eternal Pact restores less mana when a tank casts, and Statikk Shiv gains Ability Power. Among Augments, the notes broadly strengthen combat options; examples include longer Challenger’s Grace duration, higher Jeweled Lotus I crit chance, and more AD/AP from Hold the Line. Retribution’s crit chance is reduced, while Infinity Protection is disabled because of a bug.
Several Wisps are also weaker or more expensive: Stat Boosters grant fewer resists or attack speed, Blood and Iron and Three Me cost more, and Combust and Mana-Rich Soil deal less or restore less. Check the exact Wisp or Augment you are offered; the patch does not make every economy or combat choice automatic.
What the TFTFans Comp Data Can and Cannot Tell You
The comp cards currently show a TFT Codex Diamond+ ranked sample for Patch 18.2, generated September 17, 2026. That is older than the live 18.3 patch. Its win rates, placement averages, and tiers are not measured 18.3 outcomes, so this page does not name a verified current-patch best comp.
Use the TFT comps page to inspect those clearly labelled prior-patch boards, item plans, and positioning. For current play, combine them with Riot’s 18.3 change log and your own opener, components, copies, and lobby. Use the team builder to compare a candidate board and the TFT item guide to review item options.
The leveling calculator still reflects the listed leveling reference data. Patch 18.3 does not list an XP-curve change; re-check Riot’s notes before treating a system value as current after a later update.
A Practical Patch 18.3 Review Process
- Start from your board. Note your units, pairs, health, gold, and completed or likely items.
- Apply only relevant changes. Check whether your candidate uses a nerfed Blossom Charm, a changed trait breakpoint, or a buffed unit.
- Treat named directions as tests. Warwick Level 6 reroll is Riot’s highlighted direction, but the live lobby still determines whether you can support it.
- Keep patch labels attached to stats. The current TFTFans win-rate sample is Patch 18.2; do not compare it as if it were 18.3 evidence.
- Reassess after more current ranked data exists. Update composition rankings only when the source sample is clearly labelled for the new patch.
TFT Patch 18.3 FAQ
What is the current TFT patch?

What is the best comp in Patch 18.3?

Is Warwick reroll confirmed as a top comp?
No. Riot calls Warwick a Level 6 reroll direction to try and gives item guidance, but that is a balance-design signal, not a measured TFTFans 18.3 ranking.
